... was first elected to Parliament in 2010 as MP for Wirrral West, having failed to win the seat in 2005 against the Labour Party incumbent, Stephen Hesford. In 2015 she was ousted by the new Labour candidate, Margaret Greenwood, by a margin of 417 votes.
Having been re-elected to represent Tatton, she was reappointed as Secretary of State for Work and Pensions in January 2018.
